Sub Luck

Utility 5 years ago updated by Elise A. 5 years ago 4

Hello, I have a few ideas to help improve the bot, that I believe would increase the users significantly. My name is Utility, and I'm a Partnered streamer on Twitch. I mainly play the game World of Warcraft. One of the biggest things to do as a WoW streamer is to carry/help people through dungeons, called Mythic+. Every Tuesday there is a soft "reset" on things. If you did a level 10 dungeon the previous week, you have access to a chest which provides the player with some of the best equipment in the game. To be able to do the dungeon, you need a total of 5 people, so 4 people have to help/carry the person from the stream. Usually it's difficult to find people to help out for nothing in return.

That's why I've been looking for a bot like yours. A bot to be able to do a joined giveaway between multiple Twitch streams. Then everyone on the team can stream it, and people from all the chats have a chance to win. There isn't the option in the bot yet, but for it to really work well there needs to be an option to have "sub luck" or an increased multiplier for a sub to win over a non sub. Then the viewers like to sub to the streamer/s for the extra chance to win. There would also need to be an option to turn off the bot DMing people when they entered a giveaway. The messages would start to get annoying if you're getting 4 every 30 minutes or so.

I don't know anything about coding, but nearly all the other bots have this feature, and these 2 things I mentioned is the only thing holding me back from making the switch. I'm 100% sure this bot will take off in the WoW streaming community with these features added, and a bit more customization in general. Getting your team on board with the same bot for giveaways is a huge need right now.

I have added sub luck to the giveaway settings. I have not added the ability to silence entry confirmation messages though. I'm not convinced this will do more good than harm. I expect that if the confirmation messages are removed there will be many people spamming "!enter" and also we will possibly end up with support tickets asking why they weren't entered into the giveaway and how it's not fair. If you still want this feature, can you make a new request for it so we can close this for "Sub Luck"?

The way it works is that whatever you set "Sub Luck" to is the number of entries a channel subscriber gets per entry. So, if you set sub luck to "5", then each entry for a channel subscriber will count as 5 entries.

Planned

We will do this, I don't have an exact timeline right now though

Is there any update on this?
